As of October 9, 2013, you can print up to 500 copies per year for free. If you go to the Registries official website, which is www.MaineRegistryOfDeeds.com, you can access any county from there just by clicking on the county you want.

On our website, you wil have to first "Register as a new visitor", fill in information requested and click on submit. A temporary password will be emailed to you. You should get this email within a minute or two. If, for some reason, you don't, check your spam folder. If it is not there, you can call our office at 207-778-5889.

Once you get the temporary password, you must "Log in" using the temporary password and at that point you will be asked to change it.

If you use Internet Explorer, you may download the Browntech Viewer, available under "Services" at the bottom of this page. There are instructions on how to do this. You may also use Java (no download required). If you have problems viewing or printing, please fill out and submit the form at the bottom of Frequently Asked Questions.

Welcome to Registry of Deeds ONLINE RESEARCH. At this site we give the public full access to the same records available to anyone using the computer search screens at the Registry of Deeds office.
We have made available to you the following:
Scanned documents and indexes are available online. The Registry's online grantor/grantee index is available from 1984 forward and continues to expand to include earlier records. Indexes from 1838 to 1983 have been scanned into the database in their original form. You may search by name and check the original index pages. (W400TXT2)

You need special image handling software to view or print documents on this site.

If you are running Windows XP or higher and Internet Explorer version 9.0 or higher, you can use either the Browntech Image Plugin or our Java Applet, which requires an up-to-date  Java VM. If you are not using a Windows based PC, you must use the Java Applet. Click on either link and follow the instructions for either downloading and installing the viewer or for utilizing the Java Applet.

This site uses Popups, certain functions such as the Print Cart, will not work if you have Popups disabled.
